Part of the reason for the shelter’s busy year so far in 2009 is that while it is a municipal animal shelter, the center actually serves the entire county in one way or another. What that means is virtually every single animal-related call in Johnson County, including the case of 30 dogs being seized from a property in Amana last week, goes to the Iowa City animal shelter.
